Things to do

An undiscovered gem of historical interest, King's Lynn was a major medieval and Georgian trading port, second only to London in importance.  The town retains some of the most beautiful Georgian buildings in Britain, including the world famous Custom House situated on the quayside opposite Bank House Hotel.

A very happy day or two could be spent exploring King's Lynn's cobbled streets, impressive market squares and fascinating museums.

The stunning North Coast beaches and the wonderful walking of the Peddars Way and North Coast Path are just a short drive away.

Those looking for more culture will find Bank House an ideal base from which to explore the great houses of Sandringham House, Houghton Hall and Holkham Hall.

For bird watchers King's Lynn is a serious base for some serious twitching!  A ferry close to Bank House crosses the River Ouse every 20 minutes, landing visitors at the start of the fabled Peter Scott Walk around the edge of The Wash.  And once you have done that, the great RSPB Reserves of Snettisham and Titchwell are just a short drive away!

For golfers there are the world famous links at Hunstanton and the Royal West Norfolk at Brancaster.
